Evelyn Claire Richardson, age 93, passed away peacefully into eternal life on February 7, 2021, at Brookdale Senior Living Facility. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Sylvester G. Richardson, Jr. in 1997. Left to cherish her memory are her 5 children. Sylvester G. Richardson III and his wife Lien, Sylvia Steele and her husband Paul, Allan Richardson and his wife Kathy, Carlton Richardson and his wife Tina, Rev. Mark Richardson and his wife Dori. She has eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
She was born February 1, 1928 in Miami, Florida. She lived a full and adventurous life. She traveling around the country as a Navy wife, always volunteering as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader and volunteering at her church. She was an assistant librarian for many years in the Norfolk Elementary Schools. She was a Chaplain for the Ladies Auxiliary of the FRA UNIT # 60. She loved to tell stories and was a member or the Storytellers League. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a loving wife and good mother to her children. She supported and encouraged her family in their goals and achievements. We’ll miss her greatly.

The family will receive friends and well-wishers from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, on Thursday, February 18, 2021. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Friday, February 19th, 2021, at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 North Witchduck Road, Va. Beach, VA. 23462. Due to Covid-19 and limited social distancing capacity, the service will be LiveStreamed via Facebook Live.
