Florence Sisk Copeland, a cherished resident of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away on November 7, 2025, at the age of 97. Born on March 5, 1928 to the late John Henry and Minnie Sisk in Oakland, Maryland. Her husband, Mike Copeland and son, John Michael Copland preceded her in death.
Florence was known for her humorous, adventurous, and brave spirit. Florence was the only child and grew up during the depression of the 1930s. She was self-sufficient, hard-working, and had a profound love for music. Her passion for music led her to Shenandoah Conservatory Music University, where she was gifted an education and earned her bachelor's degree in voice and piano.
On December 27, 1950, she married Mike Copeland, a Chaplain in the Air Force. Florence went on to become the music director in every chapel to which her husband was assigned.
She is survived by her daughter, Clarice West and her husband Robert; and her grandchildren.
Florence's legacy is one of love, music, and resilience, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
