Genevieve Pearl Ewing

Genevieve Pearl Ewing, 86, passed away peacefully July 5, 2011.

Mrs. Ewing was born February 13, 1925 to the late Ernest and Verna Young on Tancook Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. She has been a resident of Virginia Beach for well over 48 years. Mrs. Ewing was a Avon Lady for several years. She was a devoted member of Diamond Springs Baptist Church. Genevieve will always be remembered as a loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, David Ewing, sister, Shirley Lane and husband Rex; three nieces Donna Marchand and husband Henry, Deborah Rogers and husband Bernie, Lisa Smith and husband Pat; and three nephews, Ernest Jensen and wife Jean, Gregory Jensen and partner Al Ryan, and Derek Lane. She is preceded in death by her husband Fred A. Ewing, son, Fred Ernest Ewing, and a sister, Frances Jensen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm, Friday, July 8, 2011 at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Diamond Springs Baptist Church.
