Genevieve "Bootsie" Elise Sims

Genevieve Elise (Bootsie) Sims went home to The Lord on November 29, 2022 as a result of long term illness. Bootsie was born to George Robert Heflin and Ora Juanita Heflin on October 19, 1939 in Arlington County Virginia. She was a loving mother and grandmother, she loved going to casinos, bowling and achieved several 600 games. She was loved by many and will truly be missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother George Robert (Bobby) Heflin, three sisters Harriet Hilda Gilbert, Shirley Mae Becraft and Helen Pardee. Surviving are sisters Catherine Smith of Three Springs, PA and Saundra Lee Adkins of Avon Park, FL; husband Leslie M. Sims, of the home, son Leslie M. Sims, Jr., and wife Fay of Manteo, NC; grandson Jesse Adam Sims and family of Blacksburg, VA, granddaughter Amy Nicole Sims of Manteo, NC; and great grandchildren Arya Fae Sims and Asher Clark Sims, Scarlet Jane Foley and Kennedy Slone Compton of Blacksburg, VA with many nieces and nephews in many locations.
