Mr. Diggs was preceded in death by his parents George Linwood Diggs and Atta Shelnutt Diggs and his wife Mary Louise Diggs.
Mr. Diggs was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was the former owner and Pharmacist of Fairmont Pharmacy which closed in 1996 in Norfolk. After retirement he was a member of Greenbrier Country Club and was a longtime member of Lafayette Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his son George E. Diggs, Jr., and his wife Janice, two grandchildren Michelle Diggs and Andrew Diggs.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2:00 pm at Rosewood Memorial Park by The Rev. Sidnia Etherington.
