When I started at Catch in the summer of 2015, I was in a new city, surrounded by new people, and trying to find my place. Your smile was usually the first smile of the day on breakfast shifts. Although it was so early, your energy was as bright as the sun. You were a quick friend, who has left an everlasting impression. 

We will never know or understand why you were taken from this life so early. But your memory and your light will shine on forever. I hope you’re resting easy, baby G.  

I had the pleasure of being Gerrika’s next door neighbor for the past 2.5 years. She was always so friendly to me. The first year I lived beside her, we had a very warm Oct. 31 evening. She decorated her house for Halloween. That night we spent hours on our porches talking, laughing and just getting to know each other. Even though I was 62, she always stopped to talk with me and share her day. My heart is heavy for the loss of this beautiful young woman. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. RIP beautiful angel until we meet again.

I took a walk at the Botanical Gardens today at 3:00 in your memory. Brandon and Crosby were in Sandbridge for your Celebration of Life. The sun was shining and the daffodils were blooming! You would have loved to see the signs of spring. It has been a rough week knowing that you are gone at much too young of an age. 

In the past 5 years we have some memories - some good and some not so good. 😆 Lots of holiday meals and other good times like concerts, climbing, and pool time. 

I was so happy when you would send me pictures of the plants I had given you that were thriving in your hands. You did have a green thumb for sure. I hope your time in California was an adventure for you! I am so sad that I won’t see your bright smile or hear your laugh again. You will be missed!

I am beyond loss for words.... Being around you was always comforting to me. I enjoyed everything about you. Your laugh was so contagious, and your smile lit up the whole room. I enjoyed all those years of making memories with you. Thank you for always going above and beyond. Thank you for being there for me for the hardest time in my life, back then. You know you were the BEST roommate EVER . Thank you for being my friend for so long. Thank you for all the memories you gave me.  I will always cherish those for the rest of my life. You were always care taking. Making sure I wasn’t hungry or thirsty. I enjoyed all those dinners you’ve cooked me. I enjoyed all those beach trips with Krosby. I enjoyed laying in bed with you and watching Rick and Morty til we passed out. I enjoyed every single moment with you. I’m sorry I didn’t reach out since I had gotten pregnant. You never know when someones time is up. I’m sorry G. I love you so much. You will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart. You may be gone way too soon. But I think you were just too good for earth.  

Gerrkia , You always kept me on my toes and laughing at the YAC. You were always one of my favorite kids.  I watched you grown from the sassy little girl into a beautiful young woman.  You will always have a special place in my heart. RIP, beautiful girl. x

Still at a loss for words. So I suppose I'll share a story about the one time in Japan when Ben was your neighbor and we thought he was cute, so in our wild pre-teen minds we thought a giant pile of fake vomit would be the way to get his attention, lol. So we went downstairs late after everyone was upstairs in bed and got the mop bucket and mixed everything we possibly could find out of the cleaning supplies and fridge into this bucket. I remember you couldn't stop laughing because it looked and smelled horrible, but anyway, we waddled over to his doorstep in that cold Japan night and the bucket was so heavy we couldn't tip it without dropping it so we lost control of the bucket and ran away. I remember going back in the house Jumanji scared us because it was dark and all we saw were his eyes coming down the hallway and the little bells on his collar jingling, and then your mom came down and asked what we were doing and we were just laughing and giggling and she told us to go to bed. 

I'll always remember the times when you'd eat a candy or something that touched the  floor and I'd say "GERRIKA, DON'T EAT THAT!" and you'd laugh and say "God made dirt!!". 

I remember the waterfall neither of us wanted to climb  in Jamaica, but had a blast doing it anyway. I remember being upset I was going to have to come home early after my mom came home early with my brother because we had already made plans for the evening. I remember us putting on My Humps by the Black Eyed Peas for Mera. I remember how carefree and ready to take on the world you were. Inspiring, really. I guess it's these stories we have to hold on to when our angels get called home. One of the last conversations we had we talked about meeting up again, and I think we both figured we had time. I'll see you again. I love you. Rest in peace.

I don’t know really where to begin but I do remember Independence Middle School days, you were such a sweet and full of joy gal. Remember your not gone, you have transitioned and were called home. May you Rest In Peace beautiful.
