

Harvey proudly served his country in the US Navy for over 20 years. He joined the Navy in January 1941 and served in the Atlantic during World War II, serving aboard the President Roosevelt’s flagship and the USS Memphis-CL13. After the war, he served aboard the following ships: USS Albemarle, USS Conie, USS Donner, and USS Tocanic. Harvey received the following decorations while in service: World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct 2nd Award, European Theatre, American Defense, American Theatre, and National Defense Service Ribbon. After leaving the Navy, he continued working for the government in Civil Service out of Norfolk and Virginia Beach. During the next 20 years, he worked as a computer operator and in supplies.
Harvey married the love of his life, Margaret Elizabeth Vandenburg Dunn, on October 8, 1955. She preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sons, John Edward Dunn and his wife Annette, James Richard Dunn, Jeffrey Troy Dunn and his wife Penny, and Jerald Addison Dunn; and 5 grandchildren, Jason Russell Dunn, Heather Noel Dunn, Brandi Marie Flora, Dalton Troy Dunn, and Dakota Chase Dunn.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial in Arlington National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
