Obituary of Heidi Siofu Currie
Heidi Siofu Uiagalelei Currie, 38, passed away on November 30, 2020 with her loving husband by her side in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Heidi was born October 24, 1982, in West Covina, California, where she loved to play with her cousins and other relatives. In 1992, her father and mother, Peter Scott and Fofogafetalai Von Schimpf, moved to the island of Guam to raise her and her five siblings. Heidi spent her childhood attending church, playing sports, and making lifelong friendships. Her infectious smile and welcoming personality attracted everyone to her. As the oldest, she typically found her escape hanging out with her best friends, telling them stories and making them laugh. In 2000, she returned to California, working many different jobs. Her favorite job was being a waitress where she could use her social skills the best. During this time, she was able to reconnect with her aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives. In 2010, she moved to Virginia to live with her mom and sister, Christiana Von Schimpf Gangoy. There she met and married the love of her life, Braden Grant Currie. Together they raised Boris “Borrito” Currie, their beloved cat. Heidi loved spending time with her husband, sharing laughs with her mother and sister, and video calling her nieces and nephews. Though her other siblings lived far away, she stayed constantly connected. Her final days were filled with happiness. Heidi is survived by her husband, Braden Grant Currie; fur-baby, Boris “Borrito” Currie; mother, Fofogafetalai Uiagalelei Von Schimpf; father, Peter Scott Von Schimpf; brother, Daniel Christopher Von Schimpf; sisters, Christiana Deanna Von Schimpf Gangoy, Grace Ann Von Schimpf Magileitil, Angelina Tusianu’u Von Schimpf Dela Cruz, Angelica Anitero Von Schimpf Pagan; 11 nieces and nephews; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives. Due to capacity restrictions, the in person service will be held privately on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Please join virtually. Her memories will live on in the lives she touched. She will be missed dearly.
