Mrs. Jackson was born in Philadelphia, PA and resided in Virginia Beach since 1959. She retired as a secretary from Little Creek Amphibious Chapel in 1984 and served as a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary Fleet Reserve Association, Unit 166. She was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee Jackson, Jr.
Survivors include four children Gerri Fowler and husband Tom, Tommy Jackson, Donald Jackson and Billy Jackson and his wife Valerie; ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 19, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Burial will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
