James “Jim” Allen Brand, 92, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2018. He was born to the late Lillian and John Brand in New Jersey. Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War, retiring after 27 years with the rank of Chief. He also retired from Norfolk Redevelopment Housing Authority after many years of service as a carpenter. Jim loved to fish and one of his favorite places to be was on the Lynnhaven Fishing Pier where he was an honorary member.
Jim loved his family and leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Georgia Celeste Foster Brand; 3 daughters and their spouses, Jolene Criswell (Dave), Diane Caldwell (Chris), and Linda Bartnik (Don); 3 sons, John Brand (Candie), James Brand, Donald Feci; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a host of other close family and friends. He was predeceased his son, Danny Brand, and his brother, Jack Brand.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Road, Va. Beach, 23462. The family will be available for visitation 1 hour prior to the service, and a reception will follow the service.
