Janice “Mimi” Ermen Staub, 76, passed away unexpectedly on February 12, 2023. She was born on July 9, 1946 to the late John A. and Joyce Ermen in Norfolk, VA. Raised alongside her brothers John, Kevin, and Joel.
Our family was blessed to have her as our matriarch with her grace, advice, support and most of all her love. Janice graduated Princess Anne High School in 1962 and went on to pursue a career in cosmetology.
Janice met Donald in 1963 and were soon married in April of 1965. They were happily married for 58 years having 2 sons David and Michael together as well as many fun adventures. Janice was first and foremost a dedicated mom choosing to stay home and care for her family. She treasured her time with her boys, always showing them her love and enjoyed supporting them in all their passions and endeavors. She loved teaching them to have fun and live life to the fullest. She especially loved her role as Mimi to her 5 grandchildren Madison, Erinn, Aiden, Dylan and Dallas.
Janice started a cleaning business. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 10 years. She enjoyed and took pride in her gardening. She was a member of Bayside Presbyterian Church and was involved with helping veterans at Hampton VA Medical Center. Her passion for golf made her an avid golfer and member of Cypress Point Country Club. She made 4 hole in ones during her golfing career, to which she was very proud. Donald her husband is still seeking his first!
Janice had a vivacious personality, a love of music, dancing, and always making people laugh. She made many loving and lasting friendships that she cherished in her lifetime. As her granddaughter Madison says "she is an angel who blessed everyone in her life". She is loved dearly and will be missed fiercely.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Staub; sons, David E. Staub and his wife Kerry; and Michael C. Staub and his wife Tiffany; five grandchildren, Madison, Erinn, Aiden, Dylan and Dallas; and brothers John, Kevin and Joel Ermen.
A celebration of life for Mimi will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.
