On Sunday, July 4, 2021, John passed away peacefully. His wife of 43 years, Peggy, was with him as were his daughters, Regina, Nichole and Jenifer. John is preceded in death by his parents, John Francis Devereux, Jr. and Virginia Sue Devereux. He is in-law to Ryan Harris, Michael Viloria and Tom Anderson. He also left behind his beloved grandchildren, Kayla, Walker, Myla and Sydney; sisters, Teri, Patti and Cathy; brothers, Michael, Stephen and Kevin; uncle, Richard McDaniel and aunt, Eileen Carell. There are cousins, nieces, nephews and friends which are too many to name but all are loved. John retired from Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock as a General Forman of the Sheet Metal department after 30 years. He then worked at Abu Dhabi Ship Building for 6 1/2 years and retired as Ship Superintendent. John was a loyal, hardworking man and friend. He was an avid Fisherman. He was a wonderful husband and fantastic father and Pop Pop. Also a loving brother and uncle. He will be greatly missed.
