John Burkart Kupfer

John was born in Maryland in May of 1930. He is predeceased by his parents John and Teresa and the love of his life Marian.

John retired as a Lieutenant Commander from the U.S. Navy and then enjoyed a second career with Francicus Homes.

John is survived by his children Barbara Fowler (David), Kathleen Nelson (John) and John Kupfer (Val); his grandchildren Carolyn DeFir Hunter (Matthew), Matthew DeFir (Sarah), Joshua Nelson (Kerrie) and Rebecca Bechtel (Geoff), and his great-grandchildren Tyler Franklin, Nina Hunter, Jayson Nelson, and Talyn Bechtel.

Our family would like to thank the staff of Marian Manor for their loving care of our Dad throughout his two year stay.

The family will receive friends on Monday February 9 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home 601 N. Witchduck Road in Virginia Beach.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 10, 10:00 am at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church 5345 Virginia Beach BIvd. Virginia Beach. Interment will follow with full military honors at Rosewood Memorial Park.
