He was born October 23, 1929 to the late Edward and Lillie McGowan in Hertford, N.C. Mr. McGowan served our country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean War. He was a longtime motorcycle mechanic and his knowledge of motorcycles was second to none. Mr. McGowan will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish his memory is: three daughters: Debbie Myers, Beth Steel, and Kim Nawrocki; three sisters: Mary Priddy, Carol McCormic and Shirley Howard; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by: two brothers: Earl and Harry McGowan; and a sister, Doris Reed.
