John Russell Miller Jr.

A resident of Virginia Beach and graduate of Bayside High School class of 1973. Rusty was known for his bravery and dedication as a Chesapeake Firefighter and EMT with Station 13. He was also a proud member of the Masonic Fellowship Lodge and Khedive Shriner Mini Corvettes.

Rusty was preceded in death by his parents, John R. Miller, Sr. and Phyllis Comer Miller; and grandson, Orlando J. Reed. He retired as a Firefighter/EMT from the City of Chesapeake after 30 years of service, leaving behind a legacy of courage and commitment. Rusty was most proud to be a loving grandfather (aka "Pop-Pop") to his beautiful grandchildren as he cherished every moment he was able to share with them.

Survivors include his devoted significant other, Barbara Hunt; brother, Marc Miller; sister, Linda Plevyak; son, John R. Miller, III; daughters, Stacy Miller and Amanda Miller; sons-in-law, Jacob Ross and Daryl Heath; his most treasured grandchildren, Lydia, Eli, Luca, Nico, Jonathan, Madelyn, and Savannah; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 7, 10:00am at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A reception will follow in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
