John L. Suddeth, Jr.,USN, Ret., (Seabees) 84, our beloved, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed peacefuly into God's arms after a long and heroic twenty-one year battle with cancer on Saturday, March 10, 2012.
Mr. Suddeth was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam War and retired from NAS Oceana Civil Service.
Survivors include and he will be remembered by his beloved wife of 64 years, Dolores; daughter, Doris Rice and husband Bob; sons, Thom Suddeth and wife Margo, John L. Suddeth, III and Jim Suddeth. Pop-Pop will be missed by his grandchildren US Air Force Staff Sgt. Christopher Shaw and wife Lillian; Kelly, Tim, Miles and Lila Suddeth; a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 11 a.m. at Rosewood Memorial Park.
