Johnny Elmore, 63, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away peacefully September 13, 2026. Born on July 10, 1963, in Okinawa, Japan, Johnny was the cherished son of Robert Lee and Akiko Elmore. From the moment he arrived, he brought boundless joy with his bright smile yet with a quiet manner.
He graduated from Princess Anne High School in 1981 working in Retail Sales and Marketing Research. His career was one of earning a simple living and enjoying life with having many new experiences especially with his mother Akiko. His greatest gift was his big heart and giving nature. The most honest and polite man you'd ever meet. A good listener and the peacemaker for his family. He loved sports, movies, board games, chess, poker, and the biggest Miami Dolphins fan ever. Most of all he will be remembered for being the best Uncle to his brother's nieces and nephews who adored him.
He is survived by his brothers, Tommy, Jimmy, and Scotty; his nieces Jade Elmore and Chelsea Portillo; nephews Brandon and James Mitchell; and cousins Melinda Walega, Rachael, and Aaron; aunts, Mary Sue Elmore Peterman and Tomiko; and uncle, Yuki.
Services will be private at the Rosewood Memorial Park in Virginia Beach where he will be laid to rest next to his father, Robert and mother Akiko in the Memorial Garden section.
He will forever be in our hearts.
