A lifelong Norfolk native, Joey was preceded in death by his grandmother Evelyn Poland and his brother Larry Romero. Joey attended Lake Taylor High School and worked in his father’s landscaping business. He loved his family, especially his nieces. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, his job as a landscaper, and pampered the many dogs in his life, most recently, Suki. He was fun-loving, kind-hearted, and could often be found doing a favor for a friend, or going the extra mile for a landscaping client.
Joey was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. We will miss his big laugh and his even bigger presence in our lives.
Survivors include his parents Jose Moises Romero and Evelyn Harriet Romero, his sister Liz Romero-Kibiloski and husband Keith; two nieces Alyssa Romero Kibiloski and Alanna Kibiloski Brady and husband Colin.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021, 10a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Norfolk SPCA.
