Joseph was preceded in death by his father Joseph Driscoll and his stepfather Walter Ketteman, Jr.
Joseph’s life was marked by a steady kindness, a faithful spirit, and an honesty that guided the way he met the world and the people in it. He attended school at Christ the King Catholic Church and graduated from Bayside High School, carrying forward the values of community and devotion that shaped his early years.
Over the course of his working life, Joseph served as a diesel mechanic, salesman and comedian, bringing reliability and straightforward integrity to all he did. He also found deep comfort and joy in the simple, lasting pleasures of home—especially in cooking with his mother, a shared time that reflected his gentle heart and enduring devotion to family and his best friend Bella.
Survivors include his loving mother, Eleanor DeAngelo Ketteman, and siblings Robert L. Driscoll, Linda Daley, and Mary Driscoll, all of Virginia Beach and many nieces and nephews that adored him and always referred to him as, Uncle JoeD.
Family will gather at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home on Thursday, Sept. 3, from 10:00 to 10:30am.
A graveside will follow at 11:00 am at Rosewood Memorial Park.
