

Joyce Rose Caughorn, a native of Virginia Beach, VA, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025. Born on April 17, 1932, Joyce lived a full and vibrant life that touched all who knew her. She was the daughter of William Allen and Pearl Peebles Allen.
Joyce was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Luther Caughorn, Jr., as well as her son, Luther "Bubba" Allen Caughorn, and twelve beloved siblings. Their absence is felt deeply, yet their memories bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
Joyce is survived by her three daughters, Linda Weiler (Rick), Rosa Davis, Peggy Knight (Jack), and her two sons, Eddie Caughorn (Neva) and Kenny Caughorn (Lucy). She was the proud grandmother to twelve grandchildren Jeff Hurley, Rhonda Godfrey, Wendy Shelton, Gloria Massengill, Stephen Harris, Jennifer Gerino-Brown, Brian Caughorn, Rebecca Davis, Michael Knight, Nick Caughorn, Matthew Caughorn, and Austin Caughorn and a great-grandmother to twenty great-grandchildren, as well as five great-great-grandchildren. Each of them carries a piece of her legacy in their hearts and lives, and they are forever grateful for the love, laughter, and wisdom she shared.
Throughout her life, Joyce embraced her role as a devoted housewife, nurturing her home with warmth and care. In addition to her family, she was actively involved in her community as a member of the Pinewood Gardens Civic League. Joyce found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved working in her yard, cultivating beauty and serenity.
Joyce’s life was lived with love, laughter, and a deep-rooted connection to her family and community. Her feisty spirit and laughter left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. As we say farewell to Joyce Rose Caughorn, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love and cherished memories. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as her legacy of love continues to inspire all of us. Rest in peace, dear Joyce; your love will forever shine in our hearts.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A funeral will be held at 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
