Juanita was born in Loris, South Carolina to John and Julia Hardee, and was the last living child out of ten half-brothers and sisters and six full brothers and sisters. She was predeceased by her husband, William Page, her infant son Glenn and her granddaughter Abigail Brady.
She graduated from Campbell College, now Campbell University, and continued her studies at Winthrop College before marrying Navy Petty Officer William Page.
Through her husbands’ military service, the Page family was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia: Charleston, South Carolina: and Iwakuni, Japan before returning to Norfolk, and settling in Virginia Beach in 1962, where they made their permanent home and raised three children.
Juanita continued her education journey, studying Gerontology at Tidewater Community College, and subsequently served the community as a substitute teacher in the Virginia Beach Public Schools until her retirement. She dedicated her time and talents to sewing, reading, gardening, walking in her neighborhood, volunteering with Meals on Wheels, and enriching the lives of countless individuals through her kindness and service. She was a devoted member of London Bridge Baptist Church, where she faithfully sang in the Senior Choir (Echos) for many years. She enjoyed her days reading the newspaper, watching the news, completing jigsaw puzzles, and warmly welcoming and visiting with friends, family and neighbors who cherished her presence.
Left to cherish her memory are daughter Rebecca Ann Brady of Virginia Beach; son, Spurgeon Page and wife Kate of Manahawkin, NJ; and son Willard Page and wife Kathy of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren, Patrick Brady, Cassandra Lathrop, Bridget Page, Lauren Duffy, Billy Page and Kelsey Sowell; and seventeen great grandchildren, Belyal, Taran, Autumn, Liam, Garen, Adara, Livi, Otto, Luke, Blake, Liza, Caroline, Bella, Lily, Katherine, Scott and Colin. She also leaves behind many loved family members from North and South Carolina, who were always special to “Aunt Juanita”.
The family wants to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Hospice team for all the love and support these past 2+ years. God Bless you for all you do. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sentara Hospice, or Lottie Moon Missions through London Bridge Baptist Church.
A Celebration of Life will be held at London Bridge Baptist Church on Potters Road in Virginia Beach Tuesday Jan. 13 at 12:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at 11:00. Pastor Tom Armbrister will be officiating. A graveside service will follow at Princess Anne Memorial Park. Condolences may be offered to the family at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home.
