Judy Ann Murphy

Judy was born in Harrisonburg, VA, on July 22, 1957, to Raymond and Edna Crawford. She graduated High School from VSDB (Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind) in Staunton, VA, in 1978, and received her Associates at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College in 1981. On July 2, 1983, she married David Lee Murphy Sr. Judy was a member and baptized at West Hampton Baptist Church and worked at the NEX for several years and was also a homemaker while her children were young.

She will be missed and lovingly remembered by her husband David Sr, of 37 wonderful years, children: Christy Petty (Michael), Missy Murphy, David Jr, and grandchildren: Deuce (Michael II), and Shamus Petty; sisters: Katie Crawford, Barbara Crawford, and Rachel Jackson. She will also be dearly missed by her “757 Deaf Senior Party Club” and numerous other family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Raymond Crawford Jr, and sister Kathie Crawford.

The family would like to send a special Thank You to the incredible Healthcare Heroes of Virginia Beach Sentara Hospital in the ICU and CCU, as well as Dr. Kim, Denise Miller, and the Sentara Hospice House.

Her viewing and service will be held at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, Friday, February 19th from 4pm-8pm and Saturday, February 20th, at 2pm.
