Katherine Ann Dennis

Katherine, affectionately known as “Fruity” was named by her grandmother when she saw her rosy cheeks. Loved by all, she was always there to help in any capacity. Katherine, our Matriarch, enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Katherine received her education in Queens, New York. She began her career in the Jewelry Industry at Phillips Manufactory Company in Brooklyn, New York. Later, Katherine joined PTAK Brothers in New York where she retired from her career.

On May 10, 1958, she was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Roderick Dennis. To this union, five children were born: Dawn, Dwayne, the late, Donna Edghill, Ronald, and Roderick Jr. Dennis.

Katherine leaves to cherish her loving memory: a Daughter and Son: Dawn Dennis and Dwayne Dennis; Granddaughters: Ashley Edghill, Whitney Edghill, and Tiffany Battee; Grandson Darren Wisher; five Great-Grandchildren: Knox, Mason, Phoenix, Lennox, and Austin; Son-in-law: Gregory Edghill and Brother-in-law: John Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

In Heaven, Katherine will rejoin her (late siblings): Audrey, Barbara, Theresa, Aloma, and Malachi Jr. and her children, Donna, Ronald, and Roderick Jr.

A celebration of life will occur Friday, July 12, 2024 at 10:00 AM with visitation starting at 9:00 AM at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462. A burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
