Katherine B. O'Brian, 74, of Virginia Beach, entered into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, October 3rd, peacefully in her home. Katherine was born in Gastonia, NC, to the late Bernard Belote Jr. and Jewel Ramell Belote. She is also preceded in death by her beloved sister Jacqueline Godfrey.
Katherine is survived by her faithful husband of 56 years, William Mitchell, her sister Deborah Connolly, her children Kelly O'Brian, Kortney (Matthew) Berg, Benjamin (Jennifer) O'Brian, and her 7 grandchildren Parker, Gannon, McKenna, Kaylin, Audrina, Fischer, Kingston, and step-grandchildren Dax and Atalee.
Katherine loved her family and friends. She adored her grandchildren and all babies. She had a loving heart for so many people and animals. Her caring and encouraging words will remain with us always.
Her faith kept her going over the last decade as she struggled with the effects of a severe stroke and cancer. She will be remembered with love and celebrated in heaven, as she is now at peace and free of the earthly burdens that were so limiting to her quality of life.
Funeral services for Katherine will be Thursday, October 8th at 2 pm at Rosewood- Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Rd., VA Beach, 23462.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the American Cancer Society.
