Katherine Diana Riner

Katherine “Diana” Riner, 71, born June 17, 1955, in Huntington, West Virginia, passed away on August 13, 2026. She later made her home in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where she created a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Diana was the beloved daughter of the late Earnest Tomblin and the late Eunice (Pelfrey) Tomblin Palmer.

Diana dedicated many years of her life to her career at C. F. Reuschlein Jewelers in Huntington, WV, from which she retired in 2006. She then became a caregiver to her mother and step-father Ron Palmer in Norfolk, Virginia. Her work was an important part of her life, but her greatest joy was always found in the people she loved.

Diana was a kind, graceful, loving, and carefree woman whose warmth touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had a beautiful way of making people feel loved, supported, and accepted just as they were. To her family, she was more than a mother, she was the ultimate cheerleader in life, always encouraging the people she loved and standing proudly and quietly in their corner.

Some of Diana’s happiest moments were found in the simple things. She especially loved gardening with her daughter, Michelle, sharing time together among the flowers and creating memories that will forever be treasured. She also enjoyed watching Ghost Hunters, embracing life with the same curiosity and carefree spirit that made her so special.

Diana is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Michelle (Nick), and her son, Sean (Amber), along with her grandchildren Jonathan (Faye), Bryce, Brentley, Axel and Myles; her great grandchildren Liam and Mia; her brothers Charles Tomblin and Robert Tomblin and sister Susan Wonchoba (Don); and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sisters Wanda Denovchik and Jennifer Bak.

Her kindness, grace, loving heart, and carefree spirit will be deeply missed. The love she gave so freely will live on in her children and in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, we can find comfort in knowing that Diana’s love, laughter, and beautiful spirit will remain with us forever.

A service celebrating Diana’s life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Providence Presbyterian Church, 5497 Providence Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Family and friends are invited to come together to remember and celebrate a woman whose love will remain in their hearts forever.
