Kathryn S. Foster slipped away from us on November 20, 2012. “Mamaw” as she was affectionately called by her granddaughters, was born May 28, 1928 in Scott Depot, WV, the youngest daughter of Verba and Russell Simms. She grew up in the loving care of her aunt and uncle, Grace and John Burdette.
Her husband of 63 years, James A. Foster passed away July 11, 2010. She loved him deeply and remained devoted to him though all of those years. He was totally devoted to her as well and stood by her throughout her long illness. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Simms.
She will be painfully missed and her memory cherished by her daughter, Rebecca F. Kelley and husband Jim; her precious granddaughters, Kimberly and Heather; her big sister, Dorothy Wilkinson and many relatives and friends. Her family appreciates the special loving care provided by Virginia Beach Estates and Medi Hospice.
A private service was held in the chapel of Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home with Rev. Robert F. Pittman, III officiating
