Virginia Beach - Kenneth Ray Hamilton, “Hambone”, 57, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2013 in Portsmouth, Virginia. He was born the first son to the late Dan Taylor and Ellouise Byrd Hamilton on September 28, 1955 in Montgomery County in Conroe, Texas. Hambone joined the United States Navy July 1974 right out of high school and proudly served his country for 21 years. He retired as a proud Chief Petty Officer. After retiring, he became a Field Service Technician at GTE for three years then moved to General Dynamics as a Contractor for 15 years. He was a great husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend and he lived life to the fullest. He meant so many things to all of the lives that were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Catalina; his 3 children and their spouses, Carl “Cleo”(Kamia); Christopher “Chris” (Yolanda); Christina “Tina” all of Virginia Beach, Virginia; his mother, Ellouise; brothers, Primus “PR”, Eric; his sister, Bettie Taylor, all of Conroe, Texas; grandchildren, Ariana, Raquel, Michae, Eryka, Rufino, Christiana, Jada, Christian “lil Bone”; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
His life will be celebrated on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Enoch Baptist Church, 5641 Herbert Moore Road, Virginia Beach, VA with Interment to follow at Rosewood Memorial Park, 601 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, Va. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, VA.
