

Kevin Winston Brooks, “KB”, “Brooks”, 46 years old, resident of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away on May 1, 2013, in Sussex County from a hunting accident. Kevin was born September 11, 1966, in Virginia Beach to Darrell and Betty Brooks. Kevin attended First Colonial High School in Virginia Beach.
Kevin was a freelance film and video production specialist. But as everyone who knew him knows, he had many jobs through out his life. He had a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, surfing, and four wheeling. He had a caring spirit that made him a friend to everyone he met. Everyone enjoyed hearing his stories.
His most important accomplishment was the relationship he had with his two boys, Hunter and Shane. Nothing made him happier than spending quality time with his boys. He was a friend to all. To know him was to love him.
Kevin is predeceased by his father, LCDR. Darrell Brooks, USN. Surviving family members include his wife Penny, his sons Hunter and Shane, and his loving mother Betty Brooks, He is survived by his brothers and sisters Cathi Brooks (Alan), Darrilyn Fox (Bruce), Michael Brooks (Nancy), Richard Brooks (Jennifer), his nieces and nephews Jeremy, Kim, Jason, Caitland, Alexa, Zack and Logan, many aunts and uncles, his loyal and faithful black Labrador Jack, and too many special friends to mention.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 7th 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8th 2013, at the funeral home. An afternoon reception will be held at Thumbs Restaurant, 605 Virginia Beach Blvd. Virginia Beach, VA. at 1:00 pm.
