Konstantin Yuzhbabenko

Konstantin Pavlovich Yuzhbabenko, age 61, passed away on July 14th, 2026 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX after a long battle with leukemia. He fought like a warrior, but privately and with quiet dignity. Born on April 3, 1965, in Budapest, Hungary, Konstantin was preceded in death by his parents Pavel and Vera Yuzhbabenko.

Konstantin graduated from Odesa National Maritime Academy in 1987 and started his career as an electrical engineer. He was an engineer in heart. Driven by thirst of knowledge and impressive dedication, he became a true professional in his field. In 1998, his career brought him to the United States. Shortly after, Konstantin, his wife and their two children moved to America permanently. In 2004, he became a proud father to his third son. In 2008, Konstantin Yuzhbabenko had become an American citizen. He served his new country with passion and grace, working as an engineer at Fincantieri Marine Systems for over two decades. Konstantin contributed significantly to the company’s mission. His commitment and work ethic left a lasting impression not only on colleagues but his own children, demonstrating an excellent example and inspiration.

Konstantin is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Ludmila; sons, Kirill, Alec and Andrew; his daughters-in-love, Charee and Morgan; his granddaughters, Layla and Mila. To them he will always be Kostya, Papa, Papa-in-law and Deda.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 23, from 5 to 7pm at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Road in Virginia Beach.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, July 24, 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
