That’s Why My Heart Is Filled with Praise.” William Hubbard
Ina Patricia Jones, affectionately known as ‘Pat,’ daughter of the late Evangelist Lillian McBride peacefully transitioned and took her flight to be with the Lord on December 14, 2021. She was born on November 26, 1954, in Brooklyn, New York. She was a graduate of Sarah J. Hale High School. She later moved to Baltimore, Maryland for a brief time before moving with her mother to Chesapeake, Virginia where she briefly attended Norfolk State University. She then began employment with Verizon, formerly known as C&P Telephone Company from which she retired after 30 years of employment. Ina made her home in Virginia Beach, Virginia where she resided until her death.
As a young woman, she loved to travel. Ina also loved to attend conventions and being the church paparazzi. She loved sewing, as well as wearing those phenomenal clothing she’d made. She was a savvy young entrepreneur with a small thriving clothing business called Kingdom Accessories. Ina loved to shop and because of this, she would sponsor bus trips as she frugally shopped. She also loved to sing in choirs and directed them as well. Ina was a member of the Worship Team and worked with the Media Ministry during her tenure at Tidewater Bible Way Temple now known as The Kingdom Cathedral in Virginia Beach, Virginia.’ Ina also devoted her time to supporting the music of other great choirs and groups.
Ina loved her role as God mother. She showered her three God children, Kheaira, Marie, Rylee, and many others with love, gifts, and tender care. She loved these children with all her heart as well as other children. Ina was a great supporter of Comfort the Children Ministry during their school drive as well as their annual Operation Christmas Toy and Clothing Drive. She was also a great supporter of those that were disenfranchised and homeless. Ina was a blessing and faithful in benevolent work.
She was a sassy, precocious, only child who fostered sisterhood with a special few while associating with many. For example, she loved eating a 2 for $4 fast food breakfast, especially while playing Spades with Mother Katie. It was important to her to be connected to her neighbor Karen and kicking up her heels in fun and laughter with Iris, Wanda, or Rachel was a highlight. She loved her friends, Carmelitta, Elaine, Angie and Gayle that stayed the same even if she displayed that hard core, “I don’t want to be bothered with you right now” disposition. She enjoyed having Theresa and Allison around who kept her life balanced and reasonably organized.
She didn’t have biological brothers but found safety and security in the very close brotherly friendship she shared with Waverly and Coty. She loved being able to count on people to be there for her.
Ina, loved the Lord and made it her business to attend and participate in church services and events. She used her time, talent, and treasure in many ways to honor God. Whether at Greater Bible Way, Brooklyn, New York (Apostle Huie Rogers,) Bible Way Holiness Church, Chesapeake, Virginia (The late Bishop William Faison) or her present affiliation, The Kingdom Cathedral (Apostle Michael Rogers,) Pat has demonstrated that she has a real relationship with our Father.
Ina Patricia Jones, “Pat”, will be missed and loved by the many people whose lives were touched by her life.
