Laura was born on July 1, 1955 to Alvin Hepler and Mary Dougherty in Baltimore, Maryland. She is a graduate of Princess Anne High School. She was retired from the City of Virginia Beach Public Utilities.
Laura was preceded in death by her great nephew, Stone Garcia. Laura is survived by her daughters, Crystal Kelly (Duane) and Casey Perez (Mario). She leaves behind three sisters, Linda “Lou” Tietsworth, Phyllis York (Allen) and Donna Zborill. Laura left behind 7 grandchildren, Dylan Worley, Savannah Worley, Millinia Perez, Naomi Perez, Hailey Kelly, Liliana Perez and Mason Perez along with two great grandchildren, Scotland Worley and Zoey Close.
Laura is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, Margaret Garcia, Candice Cooper, Jennifer Hoakiko, Jonathan York, Manigeh Neal, Duane Dickinson, Sabrina Szeba, Wendy Arterberry, Michelle Arterberry, Robert Arterberry, Derek Arterberry, Ashley Arterberry-Clark and Chelsea Arterberry.
Laura was very passionate about rescuing homeless pets. She will be missed by her rescued furbabies, Meme, Buddy, Lil’ Bit and Socks. She had three rescued grandpuppies that will miss her greatly, Cotton, Erma and Echo.

A visitation for Laura will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 10:00 AM, 601 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462. A reception will occur Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM, 601 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.
