Lianae Shirley Brothers, 91, passed away peacefully May 7, 2012.
Mrs. Brothers was born June 29, 1920 to the late William and Lydia Swanner in Cherry Point, N.C. She was a longtime employee with the City of Virginia Beach. Lianae will always be remembered for the kindness she showed to everyone she met. She will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: daughter, Jeanette L. Goins and husband Jim; four sons: William L. Brothers and wife Faye, Pastor John A. Brothers and wife Nita, James M. Brothers and wife Susan, Carey R. Brothers and wife Kathy; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 1/2 years, John L. Brothers.
