Obituary of Linda Ruth Trapp
Linda left this world on May 10, 2021 at 11:06 P.M. to meet her Lord and Savior. She was a very young 70-year-old who loved her Family, Community and Life. Born on February 12, 1951 in Superior Wisconsin. She spent her childhood in Maple Wisconsin just outside Superior. After graduating from Northwestern H.S. she moved to Kenosha Wisconsin where she met a fresh-faced Navy sailor, Christopher Trapp, who at the time was going thru school at Great Lakes Naval Station in Illinois. In 1970, they met at the Kenosha Service Men’s Center just before Easter. Chris and Linda married on July 25, 1970 that year and spent 50 years 9 months and 15 days of wedded bless where they had four children; Stacey, Teresa, Kevin and John. During this time, she supported her Husband thru his 20-year Naval career and nearly 30-year career at the Lawrence Livermore National Lavatory (LLNL) in Livermore CA; from 1980 to 2007. She spent her life looking after Chris, the children and grandchildren. She supported everyone thru their ventures in Scouting, Sports, and School activities. She spent 45 years as a Member of the BSA and earned the respect of her many peers during her years in Scouting. She also spent 10 years as a Girl Scout Leader. Her efforts paid off, both boys becoming Eagle Scouts and both Girls reaching the Gold Award. She earned many awards during life including the District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver in Boy Scouts as well as Leadership awards in Girl Scouts. Also, during this time, she choose to be a team mother in the Sports that her children participated in. Sports such as Baseball, Soccer, Softball, Football and Swim Teams. While her children were in school, Linda helped out by tutoring their 4 children, helping out with school functions and was a member of the Tracy High School Band Boosters for 22 years. She spent her life helping out her children and community she also, attended many churches regularly during her life with Chris as they moved several times due to Chris’s work. She was a member of many women's groups and church choirs as well as a Sunday School teacher. The last church she was a member of was St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach, VA. After Chris retired from LLNL they moved to Belle Haven, Va. in 2007 and to Virginia Beach in 2015. She maintained her work with the scouts and church until the end. During this time, she cared for Chris who was retired disabled and learned many nursing skills. They were raising the youngest grandchild when she passed. Linda will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Christopher Michael Trapp; 4 children, Stacey Renea Armstrong (John) of Virginia Beach, VA, Teresa Ann Guzman, of Virginia Beach, VA, Kevin Lee Trapp of Yakima, WA, and John Michael Trapp of Virginia Beach, VA; 7 grandchildren, Nathan Leeroy Trapp of Tracy, CA, Leeanna Nelson Trapp of Kalthm Falls, OR, Jo Nisha Faulkner Trapp of San Francisco, CA, Katrina Renea Hawkins of Ogden UT, Franklin Ford Trapp of Bon Anza OR, Rubee Justice Hawkins of Beaverton, OR, and Rosario Charo Guzman III of Virginia Beach, VA; step-granddaughter, Haley Armstrong; 1 great grandchild, London Lee Jordan of San Francisco, CA; 2 brothers, Eugene Ralph Leckron and Ronald George Hautamaki; 2 sisters Delores Marie Hakkila and Susie Kay Gimberlin. Linda was predeceased by her parents, Dorothy and Alex Hautamaki; 2 brothers, Lester Leroy Leckron and Walter Alex Hautamaki; and 1 sister, LaVerne Irene Jacobson. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
