

Linwood Leon Heffington, Jr. lost his fight with cancer on August 15, 2017 at the age of 50. He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents Linwood Leon Heffington, Sr. and Dorothy "Dot" Heffington (Adams); his wife Michele Heffington, son Blake Heffington, and daughter Cassie Bandalos; sisters Sandra Losavio (Sal), Judy Partin (Bill), Susan George (Paul), nieces and nephews -Valerie, Daniel, Billy (Amber), Rachel and Andrew, along with many aunts and uncles. Linwood was born on January 3, 1967 at Virginia Beach General Hospital. He was a graduate of Kellam High School and worked as an ASE Master Certified Equipment Repair Technician for 16 years at the Suffolk district VDOT shop. Linwood loved working with the Gates County School Band programs and served as the President of the Band Boosters and VP this past year. Linwood loved to cook even as a child his specialty was smoking BBQ and BBQ chicken. He was known as “Mr. Fix It” there was nothing that he couldn’t repair. He is also the President of the Tidewater Streeters Car Club. In lieu of flowers the family is setting up an educational fund for his son. The family will receive friends, along with a viewing from 6pm – 8:30pm on Sunday, August 20th with a memorial service and burial on Monday, August 21st at 12 noon at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N.
