

Louise T. Harden was born September 1, 1927 in Durham, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Isaiah and Eliza Mae Crews Harden. Louise attended Durham City Schools. In 1958 Louise received Christ at Union Baptist Church in Durham under Pastor A. S. Groom. She worked for fifteen years in the delivery room of Watts Hospital in Durham. In 1965, she moved to Boston, Massachusetts where she worked in the nursey of St. Elizabeth Hospital for twenty-five years with the newborns. She took subjects to gain her GED in Boston. In the 1970’s she joined Concord Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. In March 1994, she moved to Virginia Beach to be with her daughter and grandchildren. There she joined Piney Gove Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Womens’ Club and Missionaries. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Mae Blaydes; she is survived by son-in-law, Charles Blaydes; three grandchildren, Tivona Louise, Tomi Lamar and Jamil Blaydes; nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Her great granddaughters, Shamir Avion, Imani Rochel and Amya Grace were her pride and joy. They made her smile. She always said they were her children.
To Shamir, Imani and Amya: I have gone away not to stay. I will miss you. You will always be in my heart. Until we meet again, we laughter, we had fun and I have really enjoyed you through the year. Much Love, Grandma.
There will be a visitation from 5-7pm, Sunday at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2pm in the funeral home with entombment to follow in the Chapel of Serenity Mausoleum.
