M. Paul Warner, 85, passed away on August 6, 2026. Born on July 22, 1941, in Portsmouth, Virginia, Paul was the son of Merril and Isabella Warner. He grew up in Norfolk, Virginia, and attended Norview.
Paul was the owner of Warner Construction and built a life marked by hard work, dedication, and a deep commitment to the people around him. He was recognized as Man of the Year by the Circus Saints and Sinners Club. He was also a lifetime member of the WW Workman Tent and served as a former president of that organization.
An avid sport fisherman, Paul had a lifelong love of being on the water and pursuing the next great catch. His fishing adventures took him from the waters off Cape Hatteras to Hawaii and throughout the Caribbean. Among his notable accomplishments were two fishing citations earned in Virginia saltwater tournaments - one for white marlin and another for blue marlin. Fishing was more than a pastime for Paul; it was a passion that gave him countless adventures, lasting memories, and stories to share.
Paul shared 35 years of marriage with his wife, Linda Warner. Family was an important part of his life, and he leaves behind a large and loving family who will carry his memory forward.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Michael P. Warner (Pam), Darryl L. Warner (Ginny), Steven M. Warner (Shari), LeAnn M. Havill (John), and Danice K. Monroe (John); his grandchildren, Brooke, Steven, Lauren, Kristin, Tyler, and Michael; and his great-grandchildren, Eli and Lachlan.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Merril and Isabella Warner, and his brother, Merril "Mickey" Warner.
Those who knew and loved Paul will remember not simply the milestones of his life, but the husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, businessman, and outdoorsman he was. His legacy lives on in the family he loved, the work he accomplished, the adventures he enjoyed, and the many lives he touched over the course of 85 years.
