Mabel V Durand

Mabel V. Durand, 81 , passed away on September 19, 2016 with her loving family by her side. She was born on August 10, 1935 to the late Maurice and Minnie Ledoux in Sanford, Maine. Her husband of 49 years Richard R. Durand preceded her in death.

Mabel worked for many different assembly line companies during her career; General Electric Corporation and General Foam Plastics to name a few. In her spare time Mabel loved to crochet, making blankets for all of her family. She loved to dance, play bingo and spend time surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mabel's easy and genuine smile will be missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Daniel R. Durand and his wife Elizabeth of Garner N.C; Lucille B. Caughorn and her husband Kenneth of Virginia Beach; and Virginia E. Durand -Sari of Norfolk; 6 grand children, Vanessa Zitzmann and her husband John, Nick Caughorn and his wife Lauren, Tiffany Durand, Daniel Durand Jr., Austin Caughorn, and Marcela Durand-Sari; 4 great grandchildren, Luke Zitzmann, Alex Culhane, Scott Zitzmann, and Brody Caughorn; 1 brother Perley Ledoux and his partner Denise of New Hampshire.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach VA. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. You may offer your condolences at www.kellumfuneralhome.com.
