

Mabel Louisa Loveridge passed away at home on Sunday, January 1, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 24, 1926 in Canada, the daughter of the late Byron and Frances Loveridge. During her life, Mabel’s greatest enjoyments were sharing time with family, talking with friends, working at Kempsville Middle School, sewing and listening to country music, especially bluegrass. Mabel was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence Henschel; brothers, George and Tom Loveridge; and eldest sister, Lucy Holland.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lori Hayes (David); Kari Burdine; Clifford Henschel (Jeanie); Teresa Metivier (JR); and Shirley Bradford (Gary). She was a caring “Grammy” to her ten grandchildren, Michael and Andrew Hayes, Robert Burdine, Stephanie Baker, William Henschel, Melissa Waldman, Jackie Metivier and Shawn, Tyler and Makenna Bradford and her great-grandson, Hunter. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Mary and Ruth Holland both of British Columbia.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 5th at 10:00 AM in Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home in Virginia Beach with entombment to follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4416 Expressway Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23452 in Mabel’s name.
