Mrs. Barresi was my kindergarten teacher's assistant. I've recently graduated from college and am teaching myself.  I was curious about some of the people who made an impact on me as a child. I'm saddened to hear that she passed but very happy to remember her. She was very kind to me a student and very encouraging. I vividly remember taking a reading test with her in her little cubicle and doing so well that she gave me a kiss on the cheek and congratulated me. That has stuck with me for almost two decades. Because of my parents homeschooling me prior to kindergarten, I was one of those kids who was ahead academically and she always took the time to encourage me to stay ahead and never scolded me for being what my teacher called "smart-aleck". I left Pembroke after that year, but the impact she had on me remains, even now. Her kindness and understanding with me have a great impact on who I am as a teacher. I hope that she smiles down on me, even now. <3 


To Madeline's family,
I just found out recently that Madeline passed away. I have known Madeline for the past three years . We both go the Bayside cardiac rehab and  I consider her as truly a good friend and  I will miss her.She will always be remembered in my prayers. God Bless.

Your Mother was my Jimmy's kindergarten aide over 30 years ago.  She was a dear friend, with a great sense of humor and a deep, abiding faith in God.  She is at home with the Lord now.  I shall miss her but know she is in a better place.  Madeline loved you Gina, Ted, Kathryn Grace, brother John and son John.  I thank God for her ministry and witness to us all.  God bless!

Gina and Ted, Madeline was our dear friend for many years, and we loved her dearly. She was the sister I never had. We shared so many good times as you and our boys grew into wonderful adults.  We could always find something to laugh and giggle about. She will always be in my heart. I'm so glad she was with you and felt your love and comfort in her last days. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. I am so grateful that your mother was with you, Ted and Kathryn in her last days. And, her love for Kathryn was so evident in the celebration of life today. I'm sure that the love that she received from your family is what kept her going through good times and bad. Ms. Barresi was my daughter Kelly's kindergarten aide, and Kelly loved her dearly. She always had a smile and a kind word, and we shall never forget her.

Your mother was a very special person. I treasure the times we were together, whether it was going out to dinner or taking trips. On trips, she was my navigator. Her sense of humor will provide many memories.

Ms. Barresi, (Cickie) as all of us neighborhood kids called her will be greatly missed, she was always a good friend to the Gayheart family and had such a big heart and helping hand whenever anyone needed anything if only a comforting hug or sweet word of wisdom. our hearts go out to Gina and her husband and brother. We will miss your mother with all of our hearts.Take comfort in knowing she can finally be at peace and her pain be gone.
