Maria DeJesus Medina

Maria DeJesus Medina, 91 years old, was born in Managua Nicaragua. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 14th, 2025 at 3:30 p.m. with her sons William and Ricardo by her side.

Mrs. Medina was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Edwin, and her parents Juan Gregorio and Isabel Paula Lopez.

She is survived by her Sons Ricardo, William, and David. Her Daughter Carolina Sanchez-Costa, Her Step-Daughter Maria Dillahunt and Her adopted children Jose Cardenas and Grisel loupe Figueroa. She is also survived by her grandchildren Daphne, Delisaned, Paul, Joshua, Alida, Jessica Ana, Carol Melissa and Iana and her great-grandchild, Taina.

Mrs. Medina did many things in her life. she worked at a law firm, she was a Certified Nursing Assistant. One of her proudest moments was when she was accepted into College after putting it off for so long.

Maria DeJesus Medina's greatest joy was her family and her faith. She was a member of the Virginia Beach Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She and her husband proudly attended services right up to the point where he no longer could, because of the loss of the use of his legs.

Mrs. Medina cared for her family and her home. She lived to take care of her husband Edwin, and she did that to the best of her ability for as long as she could. She will be missed by everyone that had the privilege and honor to know her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 12th, at 2pm at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A reception will follow in the funeral home.
