Mariano, known to some as “Conrad”, was born on February 6, 1949, in the coastal city of Aringay, La Union, Philippines, to Sabino and Bebiana Decipulo. He attended FEATI University in Manila and graduated in 1971 with a degree in accounting. In 1975, he immigrated to the United States and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he honorably served for 20 years. Following his military retirement, he worked as an accounting associate for Dollar Tree, Inc.
Mariano was a devoted husband, a loving and caring father, and a proud “Lolo” who delighted in spoiling his beloved grandchildren. His strong work ethic was formed early in life, selling balut and fruit as a child. He found joy in the simple pleasures—tending to his garden, fishing, singing karaoke, cooking exceptional meals, and telling corny jokes. His warm smile and contagious laugh lit up every room, and he deeply valued time spent with family. He was a steadfast supporter of his children and took immense pride in their accomplishments—his daughter as a pediatric nurse and his son as a pianist and musical director.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years, Aida; his son, Allan (Amanda); his daughter, Althea; his grandchildren, Stella and Dominic; his siblings, Danilo Decipulo and Gloria Ordona; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Pedro.
