Marie Harris Brewton

Mrs. Brewton was born in Pleasant Hill, Alabama on November 9, 1925. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother who enjoyed crafting and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents Daisy Ree Eddins Harris and Allie Harris, her husband of seventy years, Leon M. Brewton, Sr., a sister, Daisy Allene Harris Bauer and a brother John David Harris.

Survivors include four children, Janice Marie Brewton Skipper, Margie Lee Brewton Briggs, (Paul), Leon Martin Brewton, Jr., (Veta), and Michael Lamar Brewton; seven grandchildren, Donald, Ronald and Lonnie Skipper, Lisa R. Briggs Wood, Regina L. Briggs Dawson, Victoria Brewton Chancery and Andrew M. Brewton; seventeen great grandchildren, Rose, Tye, Ryan, Taylor and Alex Skipper, Noah Willmer, Ciarra Bishop, Kyle Teague, Cameron Wood, Deanna and Logan Spruill, Genoa Woodard Benecke, Bret Dawson, Drew, Darien and DeLynne Chancery and Justin Brewton; six great great grandchildren, Cayden and Althea Wood, Lilith, Charles and Amelia Benecke and Aiden Spruill; a sister Gwen Vickers and two brothers, Grady and Wayne Harris.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home where a Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. Friends may offer condolences at www.kellumfuneralhome.com
