Marion’s life can only be defined by words of love. Born in South Norfolk before it was a city, she lived a simple life with her farming family. At the age of 14 she already knew she had fallen in love with Robert, a local boy who would ask her to marry him five years later. Marion’s passion was making a home for the love of her life and their four children, finding complete contentment in raising them in love and discipline.
Her children, now grown, kept coming back home to the mother they knew to be wise and welcoming, seeking warm hugs and advice. They kept her close, turning her into a doting grandmother of seven grandchildren.
When Marion finally went to work, outside the home, she believed in supporting her co-workers wholeheartedly using her talent in secretarial skills to enhance the group’s efficiency. Her relationships with coworkers were liberally sweetened by her fondness for them and Marion often thought of them as her brood.
Over the years Marion bore the loss of two brothers, her beloved husband, her only son, and a daughter. She carried the sadness of her loss in her heart with quiet grace and worked out her grief in the flowerbeds around her home.
Patti and Laurie remembered “Ma” with deep love and respect and though she’s not here any longer, they thank God sincerely for giving her to them, filling their lives and hearts with her love.
Left to cherish Marion’s memory are her loving daughters, Patti and Laurie, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
