Marito “Mari” Prudente Guinoo, 74, passed away and joined the Lord on Monday, March 14, 2022. His memory lives on through his loving wife of 50 years, Nelida Guinoo; his son, Marty, wife Laurie, and children Lucas, Elijah and Naomi; his son Henry, wife Jade and daughter Arielle; and his son Richard, wife Shureka and children Nyemah, Saniyah, Triniti, and Legacy.
He was born on July 20, 1947 in the Philippines to the late Felix and Marquita Guinoo and is survived by his siblings, Efren, Ronnie, Bernardo, Henry, Amor, Arcel, and Junior. At 19 he joined the US Navy and after 23 years of service to his country retired in 1990.
Mari loved spending time with his family and friends. He dedicated his life’s work to provide for them. He always wanted everyone to feel welcome. Always quick to introduce himself and spreading laughter with his stories and jokes. Lastly, he had a musical soul. He filled the days with his songs and singing.
There will be a visitation from 4-8pm, Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 1230pm, Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Iglesia de Dios Adonai, 5160 Beamon Rd., Norfolk, VA 23513. Interment will occur at Rosewood Memorial Park immediately after the services.
