Marjorie Elizabeth Boyd

Marjorie Elizabeth Boyd, went home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2010.

Mrs. Boyd was born on April 5, 1925 in Pitt County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of Frank and Lillie (Sutton) Buck.

She was the wife to the late Belvin Maynard Boyd, Sr.. She was the mother of four children, Linda Gaskins Church, Belvin Maynard Boyd, Jr., Monroe Garfield Boyd and Christopher Wayne Boyd. She will be lovingly remembered by her nine grandchildren and eight great grand children. She was a charter member of the Bethany Free Will Baptist Church and served as a deacon's wife, children's church teacher, Vacation Bible School coordinator, and helped to establish a library for the Bethany Christian School. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Gideon's International and had found great pleasure helping to distribute Bibles. Along with her many church activities she also enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens. She had a "green thumb" and under her care there were always lots of fresh vegetables and canned goods for the winter. In recent years she had many health battles and was unable to do the things she enjoyed, but she prayed daily for her friends and family and those prayers will be missed.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm, Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, December 31, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Gideon’s International.
