Marjorie Ellen Lee “Margie”, 78, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024 in Virginia Beach, VA. She was born in Los Angeles, CA to the late Lester and Althea Rottler. She was also predeceased by her brother-in-law, Warren Leslie.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 57 years, William Lee; son, John Lee and wife, Jennifer of North Carolina, son, Robert Lee of New Jersey; granddaughter, Greta Lee of New Jersey; sister, Harriet Leslie of Florida; special nieces, Debbie Leslie and Denise Morfesi of New York; and other family members and friends.
Marjorie married William in San Diego, California shortly before he began his 3rd military tour in Vietnam. She moved to New Jersey and Virginia to be with family during her husband’s deployment. She was a homemaker who cared for her sons while they were young. She worked as a bank teller and at Krispy Kreme before finding long term employment with Virginia Beach Public Schools. Marjorie was a teacher assistant for 24 years until her retirement in 2011 from Landstown Middle School. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved dogs. She attended Relate Church in Suffolk, VA and was a current member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3204 Women’s Auxiliary.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 2:00pm at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462. A private burial will be held at a later date.
