We are saddened to announce the passing of Mary Etta Dana, who left us on May 26, 2025, at the age of 87. Mary Etta was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was known for her strength, fiery spirit, and strong will.
She is survived by her brother Joe, sister Bonnie Jean, daughter Lorrie, son Ellard, and daughter Alisa. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Chrystal, Heather, Shawn, Bryan, Brandon, Jesica, Brittanie
and Justin. Great-grandchildren: Alana, Haven, Vivian, Damien, Amelia, Zoey, Jade, Carter, Koda, Ariana, Donovan, Ryann, Aubrie and Liam.
Mary Etta valued time spent with family. She found joy in life’s simple moments—quiet conversations, family meals, and poolside cookouts on the holidays. Her steady presence and fierce heart left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.
A graveside memorial service for Mary will be held Friday, June 6, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.
