On August 21, 2010, Mrs. Forbes, died peacefully in her home, joining her Heavenly Family. She was the wife of the late Warren C. “Whitey” Forbes and the daughter of the late Irene Williams Henderson and Wilbur Mabry Henderson. Born in Norfolk, she attended Holy Trinity High School, was a 28 year volunteer at DePaul Medical Center, a member of the Ladies of Charity, St. Gregory’s Catholic Church and friendship groups in her Haygood Halls Community.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, Michael and Janet (Chesapeake), Timothy and Gina (Woodstock, GA), John and Ann (Virginia Beach) and grandchildren, Ashley, Jennifer, Zachary, Jake, Samantha, Caleb and Haley; a sister, Marjorie Permoda (Hampton), and brothers, Bill Henderson (Norfolk) and Charles Henderson, and his wife, Emily (Evans, GA), many nieces and nephews, wonderful loving friends and neighbors.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 11:00 AM in Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The American Cancer Society. The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks for the many prayers and kindnesses during her illness. Her wish was for everyone to “Love One Another”.
