Obituary of Mary Heuneman Hilderbrant
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth Heuneman on January 19, 2022. Mary was born on December 1, 1956 in Norfolk, Virginia. Mary grew up with five brothers and one sister in the Lynnhaven area of Virginia Beach. Mary’s love for her family, friends and many furry, feathered creatures she found along the way will be greatly missed and treasured. With great love, comes great grief and we are all hurting as we mourn the loss of Mary. Mary was predeceased by her father and mother John and Helen (Han) Heuneman, brothers Johnny Heuneman and Jimmy Heuneman, sister Theresa Blaylock and nephew Paul Heuneman. Mary is survived by Bobby Heuneman (Brenda), Joe Heuneman (Donna), Richie Heuneman (Brenda), Rob Heuneman (Liz), Dennis Heuneman (Roberta), Mindy Whittington (Robert), Lisa Schaub (Mark), Christa Blaylock (Greg), Randy Blaylock (Sharon), Billy Heuneman (Kristin), Jerry Heuneman, Richie Heuneman, Debbie Heuneman, John Heuneman (Jan), 29 great nieces and nephews, 21 great-great nieces and nephews, lifelong best friend Eileen Benton Fett and friend Tommy Wynn. Mary loved horses, cooking, the ocean and her time spent in the mountains, but most of all, Mary loved her family. There will be many memories of learning to swim in Mary’s backyard pool and the numerous summers we would all call her up and ask, “hey Mary, can we come swim today” only to find out once we got there others had asked too. Mary would always say just make sure you clean up after yourself and if you can, bring some candy to fill up the candy jars for the kids. Mary was a painter by trade. Many of her nieces, nephews and friends got their start in life as teenagers and young adults painting alongside Mary as her assistant. No matter how bad you were at cutting in a corner she would always say “are you coming back tomorrow, I could use the help”. She was happy to have family around. A Celebration of Life for Mary will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Blaylock Residence, 4761 Haygood Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23455. The family requests donations be made to a Go Fund Me account that has been established to help with final arrangements. The link for that is :https://gofund.me/efOf6450
