Mary Ellen Love

Mary Ellen was born on November 2, 1936, in Flint, Michigan, where she met the love of her life at a community dance during his leave from the Navy. They got married in 1957 and shared 50 years together.

Mary Ellen was a pillar of love, strength and guidance to her family and friends throughout her life. Mary Ellen and Del built a life rich in love and cherished memories raising three children: Debora (Sherman) Shreves, Mary Ann (Tad) Nycum, and Delmer C. Love, Jr.

In addition to her children, Mary Ellen is survived by five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her beloved mother, Mary Halstead, and five brothers.

Though her passing leaves a deep void in our hearts, we find comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with her beloved husband, and together they watch over the family they so lovingly built.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, located at 601 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, VA, 23462, on November 2, 2025, starting at 11:00 am.
